elementary Schools
During the presentation, students will learn the importance of the 3Rs – reduce, reuse and recycling, along with how to sort items correctly into recycling, organics and garbage, and an introduction to how landfills operate. The presentation is approximately 30 minutes.
Secondary Schools
During the presentation, students will learn about environmental impacts associated with landfills, what happens to waste after its collected and an understanding of the importance of waste reduction and sustainability. The presentation is approximately 45 minutes.
Community Groups
This presentation can be customized to your groups interests with respect to waste but generally covers all the County’s waste diversion programs (curbside and waste drop-off) and how to participate. We will also take a deeper dive into the future of waste management in the County of Simcoe. The presentation is approximately 40 mins to 1 hr (depending on the number of attendees, the question-and-answer period at the end can be fairly in-depth).
