Simcoe County is considered by many to be Ontario’s four-season outdoor playground. Visitors enjoy breathtaking views, a vibrant arts and cultural community, walking trails, parks, marinas, shopping and dining, and a variety of entertainment ranging from world class shows, snowmobiling, skydiving, and horseracing to lounging on the beach, boating and skiing.

There are a number of reasons this region has been identified as a premier destination in Canada, including:

  • Our extensive waterfront access, including Lake Simcoe, the largest lake in Ontario after the Great Lakes; Georgian Bay, famous for its crystal clear water on Lake Huron; and Wasaga Beach, the longest freshwater beach in the world
  • A variety of outdoor facilities offering an assortment of activities, more than 50 golf courses, 60 marinas, three ski resorts, more than 30,000 acres of Simcoe County Forest, seven provincial parks, one national park and hundreds of kilometres of cross-county skiing, snowmobiling, hiking and mountain biking trails
  • A growing agri-culinary sector, including the development of several signature foodie trails, craft breweries and distilleries
