On September 14th, golfers hit the links at Hawk Ridge Golf Club for the Warden's 18th Golf Tournament. Proceeds from the event are in support of the County's Give-a-Lift Long-Term Care and Seniors Services Bus fundraising campaign. supporting the purchase of accessible buses used to provide programming for residents in the County's four long-term care homes.
The tournament raised much needed funds towards the purchase of three new accessible buses.
“It was a pleasure to welcome participants to the Warden's Golf Tournament, my first as Warden of this great County," said Warden Basil Clarke. “It was wonderful to see so many show their support for the County of Simcoe and the Give-a-Lift Fundraising campaign, a program that makes a difference in the lives of our residents each and every day."
Since its inception in 2004, the Warden's Golf Tournament has raised more than $543,000. Community sponsors and supporters for the 2023 event included:
