Warden's Gala raises nearly $30,000
in support of United Way Simcoe Muskoka
On June 9, the County of Simcoe Warden's Gala presented by Flato Developments Inc., made its in-person return, raising nearly $30,000 in support of the United Way Simcoe Muskoka, our partner in building stronger communities.
“The United Way Simcoe Muskoka has been a tremendous community partner and life-changing organization for so many of our residents, especially given the challenges presented throughout the pandemic" said County of Simcoe Warden George Cornell. “We are so grateful to have once again been able to safely gather to show our support for this important work. Thank you to all the individuals, businesses and organizations, who continue to give so generously to the Warden's Gala."
With the earnings from 2022, the Gala has now raised more than $827,000 in support of the United Way Simcoe Muskoka over 16 years.
This year's theme, “Enchanted Forest", paid tribute to the Simcoe County Forest, which is celebrating its 100th anniversary in 2022. The County wishes to thank all sponsors, including presenting sponsor Flato Developments Inc.; gold sponsors Crozier Consulting Engineers, Geranium, Harvest, Nottawasaga Foundation, Salter Pilon Architects Inc; and silver sponsors Cortel Group, Decast Ltd., MediSystem Pharmacy Ltd., and Miller Waste Systems Inc. for their tremendous support.
The County of Simcoe is a proud partner of United Way Simcoe Muskoka in part because of a shared mission. The COVID-19 pandemic has had a disproportionate impact on the most vulnerable in our communities, only increasing the gap for those struggling. Funds raised through events such as this, continue to be used to make positive impacts on the social issues that limit opportunities for many vulnerable residents and families.
