Garbage Tags

If your garbage cannot fit into your garbage cart (with lid closed), please prepare overflow garbage as follows:

  • Garbage tags must be affixed to all overflow garbage
  • Garbage tags are $3 per tag sold in sheets of 5 at various retail locations (see below)
  • Max of 5 tagged bags are permitted on garbage day
  • Use standard-sized garbage bags (max weight 20 kg, max volume 90 cm x 75 cm)
  • Place 2 feet apart from cart or any other objects, not on top of cart
  • Old garbage cans may be used as long as the garbage inside is tagged and bagged as above (limit 1 bag per container to ensure collection)

Garbage is collected biweekly on alternating weeks with recycling. Organics is collected weekly. Using your green cart will free up space in your garbage cart and reduce the need to purchase garbage tags. Click here for more information on how to prepare your garbage.

How do I use garbage tags?

Place the tag around the neck of the bag so it is visible and stick the glued sides of the tag together. Click here to find your nearest bag tag location on a map or view the list below.  Tags are $3 each, sold in sheets of 5.
