How to I prepare my electronics for collection?

Follow these guidelines to ensure your electronics are collected:

  • Delete all personal data. The County of Simcoe will not be responsible for personal information contained on computer hard drives, motherboards or other electronic devices that may potentially store information
  • Place sealed, clear bags and larger, loose items at the curb 2 feet from carts or other objects
  • Electronics collection coincides with your regular collection day but it will be a different truck collecting your electronics
  • There is no limit however each bag/item should not exceed 20 kgs

*NEW – In an effort to reduce waste, blue electronics bags will not be mailed out in 2024. Those who participate in clothing collection may use clear bags. The County reserves the right to refuse collection if improperly set-out or over-weight items.

What happens to the electronics after collection?

The material is collected, consolidated and shipped to a local, approved electronics recycling facility.
