Barrie Collingwood Railway (BCRY) Active Transportation Trail


The County has the opportunity to convert a 23 km stretch of the former BCRY into an active transportation trail. This section of the proposed tr​ail runs from Stayner (Township of Clearview) to Angus (Township of Essa). The County of Simcoe has completed the Municipal Class Environment​al Assessment.

The BCRY Active Transportation Trail will:

  • Help build a healthier and stronger County
  • Connect the communities of Collingwood, Stayner, New Lowell, and Angus
  • Promote walking and cycling for recreation and the enjoyment of nature
  • Support healthy living, economic development, and tourism opportunities

All information is collected in accordance with the Environmental Assessment Act, RSO 1990 Chapter E.18 Part II Section 5.1.Information will be used to inform the project team in the development of recommendations to support the study vision and objectives. All submissions become part of the public record, and disclosed in full in accordance with the Municipal Freedom of Information and Protection of Privacy Act (MFIPPA).
