LINX Transit

Rider Information

Riding with Simcoe County LINX means you’re sharing space with other passengers and our operators. Here are some basic transit rider and etiquette tips to help make everyone’s trip as enjoyable as possible.

Cards can be registered and reloaded at LINX CARD portal.

Information can be updated at any time that you are in your online account.

To save money use the LINX Card which is an electronic, reloadable transit fare card that helps make travelling on transit easy and convenient. Linx Transit money is loaded on to the Linx Card and when you use the card on the bus, the Adult fare will be discounted 10% and Seniors/Students will receive a discount of 15% in transit cash.

When you register and sign up, you can manage your balance online or you can ask the driver for a print out of your remaining passes.

You will need to call Customer Service at 1-800-263-3199 during business hours to have your card deactivated or you may go to the transit web site, log onto your account and click ‘lost/stolen”. You must have registered your card in order to do this.

Once your LINX Card is deactivated and the balance can be transferred from your pervious LINX Card to your new card by Customer Service, you will be contacted by Customer Service and notified when to pick up your new LINX Card at the County of Simcoe – Administration Centre at 1110 Highway 26, Midhurst.

The County of Simcoe is not responsible for lost, stolen or misplaced cards.

It may take up to 24-48 hours after your report your card lost or stolen for the block to take effect and replacement ready for pick-up. The County of Simcoe is not responsible for any use of your card or fare products before the block takes effect.

Unregistered cards cannot be blocked or replaced. Your fare products remain valid and the pass/stored value can be used.

You may request a refund from the County of the funds that are loaded in your My LINX Account.  A processing fee equal to 4% of the total value or minimum $5.00 to be refunded will apply to all refunds. Contact Service Simcoe.

Step 1: Ensure you have the appropriate Card, Adult or Student / Senior. Once you have money loaded on the card, just tap, hold on the Linx card reader and GO. Tap, hold and GO when exiting the bus. Students must present valid ID when boarding the bus.

The website is a secure payment website. We understand that some people may not wish to re-load the card online. The Customer Service location the County of Simcoe – Administration Centre or Springwater Public Library will assist you in loading the LINX Card.

You can reset your password on your account through the linx.simcoe.ca website. You will need your email address that you registered the card with.
