Christmas & New Years Waste Reminderhttps://www.simcoe.ca/SolidWasteManagement/Pages/Christmas-&-New-Years-Waste-Reminder.aspx12/8/2022 7:21:03 PMChristmas & New Years Waste Reminder<p><span style="text-decoration:underline;"><strong>​Waste Facility Hours</strong></span><strong> </strong><br></p><p>Please note the following adjustments to hours of operation over the Christmas and New Year's holiday season:<br></p><ul><li>​Saturday, December 24th - Waste Facilities closed at noon for Christmas Eve<br></li><li>Sunday, December 25th - Waste Facilities closed for Christmas Day<br></li><li>Monday, December 26th - Waste Facilities closed for Boxing Day<br></li><li>Sunday, January 1st - Waste Facilities closed for New Year's Day<br></li></ul><font color="#000000" face="Times New Roman"></font><p style="text-decoration:underline;"><span style="font-size:1em;"><strong>Waste Collections</strong></span></p><p><span style="font-size:1em;">There are NO CHANGES to your curbside waste collection schedule over Christmas and New Year's (as they fall on a weekend). Please ensure your carts are out by 7 a.m. on your regular collection day.</span></p><p><strong style="text-decoration:underline;">Have extra material over the holidays?</strong><br></p><p><span style="font-size:1em;">Overflow recycling that does not fit into your cart (with lid closed), must be placed in clear bags or recycling boxes. Flatten and bundle extra cardboard (max. 75 x 75 x 20cm). </span>Garbage tags must be affixed to any extra garbage that does not fit into your cart (with lid closed). Fall Yard Waste Collection 2022https://www.simcoe.ca/SolidWasteManagement/Pages/Fall-Yard-Waste-Collection-2022.aspx9/19/2022 2:39:54 PMFall Yard Waste Collection 2022<p>To ensure collection, <strong>yard waste must be removed from snow banks</strong> and placed in easily accessible curbside locations <strong>free from snow and ice</strong>.​<br></p><p>Yard waste collection may be delayed in some areas due to very high volumes. Those impacted​ may experience delayed collection , and may notice different trucks collecting material. Use Kraft paper yard waste bags, compostable bags, cardboard boxes, or open-ended rigid containers (such as old​ recycling boxes or garbage cans). Brush must be bundled and tied. Bundles must be no larger than 30 cm in width and no longer than 2 metres.
