What does the Environmental Impact Study (EIS) include?

The Environmental Impact Study (EIS) examined natural features of the property (including soils, vegetation, wildlife, topography, watercourses/bodies) and the ecological functions they provide. It outlines potential environmental impacts on both vegetation and wildlife and recommended mitigation measures. Additional information on this and the field investigations completed in consultation with the Nottawasaga Valley Conservation Authority (NVCA) can be found in the EIS report dated November 16, 2016.

The EIS was conducted by a qualified consultant (with expertise in species identification, biological, ecological and/or environmental functions). The final report is included with the Planning submissions and is available on the County’s website under Planning (a link to this study is provided at simcoe.ca/errc). Additional fieldwork was undertaken in summer 2017 based on comments from the NVCA and MNRF. Once finalized, the updated EIS report will be posted to the County’s webpage.
