Volunteer News

Check out our “Volunteer Feature Board” near the front Administration office. On this board we randomly select a volunteer to be featured which includes a background on their volunteer experience at Georgian Manor.

Do you have a student going in high school looking to complete their 40 hours of service? Georgian Village offers opportunities for students in the evenings and on weekends to complete their 40 hours of service. Youth volunteers can volunteer in friendly visiting, large or small group programs, creative programming and games. There is something for everyone!

We are working diligently with both our community partners as well as the Museum to discuss ways to streamline the Volunteer program in order to provide effective service to our current and prospect volunteers. Further to this, new Volunteer referral cards are being added to the program.  Any new volunteer referred to by a current volunteer includes them into monthly giveaways.

Mind & Melody

As you know we have been implementing a program called Music & Memory on all home areas, where residents are set up with personalized playlists that are loaded on to an iPod for them to enjoy. We have seen great success in this program and appreciate how well the multidisciplinary team works together to allow residents to enjoy their favorite music.

Our Volunteer Dedication

Delta Bingo Gaming Centre

Members of the Georgian Manor Volunteer Auxiliary Committee have the privilege of volunteering for the Delta Bingo Gaming Centre. For many years Penetanguishene Boardwalk has played a huge part in fundraising for this committee twice monthly. The proceeds raised go towards helping to enhance programs that allow residents to remain active socially and recreationally within Georgian Manor and the community.
