Volunteer News

We are working diligently with both our community partners as well as the Museum to discuss ways to streamline the Volunteer program in order to provide effective service to our current and prospect volunteers. Further to this, new Volunteer referral cards are being added to the program.  Any new volunteer referred to by a current volunteer includes them into monthly giveaways.

We are proud to announce the Volunteer program will now be called “Simcoe Strong" to reflect the strong commitment of our volunteers for the residents that we serve. To further recognize our volunteers an investment has been made in a new branded volunteer attire. Please stayed tuned to our Launch of our New Volunteer Program

Volunteer Activities

April 27th -  Volunteer appreciation Lunch

June 29th - Dress in red and white to celebrate Canada Day!

“Theme Days" are held throughout the year for a chance to win a prize. Stay tuned for posters displayed around Georgian Village for more details!

Want to Volunteer?

Do you have a student going in high school looking to complete their 40 hours of service?  Georgian Village offers opportunities for students in the evenings and on weekends to complete their 40 hours of service. Youth volunteers can volunteer in friendly visiting, large or small group programs, creative programming and games. There is something for everyone! If you are interested, please contact Christina Thorpe.

Our Volunteer Dedication

Georgian Manor has received 3,820 hours of volunteerism in 2017!

Two Georgian Manor Volunteers, Anita and Mary, were nominated for Ontario Volunteer Service Awards. Mary was recognized for her 15 years of service and Anita was recognized for her 25 years of service. This award recognizes volunteers for providing committed and dedicated service to an organization.

We would like to thank all the hardworking volunteers who dedicated their time to help with all the Georgian Village and Manor Canada 150th Celebrations and Resident and Family BBQ!

Georgian Village volunteers help in all kinds of ways! Thank you, Joyce, for singing school nurseries with the students from École publique Saint-Joseph and the Residents.
