Long Term Care and Seniors Services
Letters to Seniors
During this time of social distancing, residents in Long-Term Care homes may be feeling more isolated. To help, the County of Simcoe is launching Letters to Seniors, a Pen Pal Program to encourage school-aged children to write to and connect with residents.
This Pen Pal Program will enable residents to interact with young people in a meaningful way while also encouraging residents to contribute to the “future of their community." To learn more, visit https://www.simcoe.ca/CorporateCo…/…/letters-to-seniors.aspx
Celebrating Mother's Day
Staff and members of the community did their best to help honour the ladies who reside in our Long Term Care homes on Mother's Day. Though they couldn’t be with their families, they knew that they were loved and appreciated. Below are images from Georgian Manor, Sunsent Manor and Trillium Manor. Lake Simcoe Regional Airport
Our Lake Simcoe Regional Airport was proud to welcome CF Snowbirds as part of Operation Inspiration, a mission to thank all Canadians fighting against COVID-19 by flying to communities throughout the country.
Simcoe County Museum
The County recognizes the challenges for our residents, including families living and working in isolation with small children. To help during these difficult circumstances, Simcoe County Museum is hosting virtual events, including Pioneer Kids Camp, a Home Scavenger Hunt, Virtual Victorian Tea Party and a ration cooking challenge where participants can re-create historic recipes using only ingredients they have on hand. Check website for upcoming virtual events. https://museum.simcoe.ca/
Virtual Tea Party
Everyone had a "Tea-riffic" time on Sunday, April 2 participating in
the Simcoe County Museum Virtual Victorian Tea Party! Thank you to all the
families who joined in from their own homes. The next Virtual Victorian Tea Party will be taking place on Sunday, May 3.
Community shows Gratitude and Kindness to County
Kindness comes in all shapes & sizes. From the family members who visit their loved ones in Long Term Care and Seniors Services to the children using their creativity to offer thanks to
waste collectors and paramedics, our staff find inspiration in all.
