Simcoe County Museum presents the Tenacious and Versatile: 150 years of the Grey and Simcoe Foresters Exhibit and Lecture Series

Official opening to be held October 11, 2016 at 6:30 p.m.

Minesing/October 7, 2016 – The Simcoe County Museum is pleased to present the Tenacious and Versatile: 150 years of the Grey and Simcoe Foresters exhibit and lecture series.

Living up to their motto, Tenacious and Versatile, the Grey and Simcoe Foresters has remained a regiment tenacious in its determination to continue as a major unit in the order of battle, and versatile in its willingness and adaptability to take on new roles and challenges.

A lecture series complements the Grey and Simcoe Foresters exhibit which officially kicks off on October 11 at 6:30 p.m. and runs through December. The lecture series schedule is as follows:

  • October 11, 7:30 p.m.: The Grey & Simcoe Foresters, Celebrating 150 Years of history presented by Major John Fisher.
  • October 18, 7:30 p.m.: The Northwest Rebellion and the York-Simcoe Foresters with former Master Warrant Officer (MWO) Darcy Murray.
  • November 15, 7:30 p.m.: Telling the story of a Grey & Simcoe Forester of today presented by MWO Dean Henley.
  • November 29, 7:30 p.m.: A Canadian and Simcoe County Perspective on the WWI Battles of 1916: St. Eloi, Mt. Sorrel and The Somme with Grey & Simcoe Foresters, presented by Regimental Museum Associate Steve Glover.
