Controlled burn in Hogback Tract cancelled

Midhurst/May 10, 2017 – The controlled burn, scheduled to occur in the Hogback Tract in Clearview Township (between the communities of Brentwood and New Lowell) this spring, has been cancelled. Due to ongoing wet conditions on the site, suitable requirements to achieve the desired results have not occurred and the window to conduct the burn this spring has closed. The site will continue to be monitored by staff. Consultation will occur with consultants to determine if a controlled burn can occur later this fall or in spring 2018.

Public questions and inquiries can be directed to our County Forestry Department by contacting Customer Service at 1-800-263-3199.
