Midhurst/August 2, 2019 – Join Warden George Cornell to celebrate Simcoe Day (Civic Holiday) with a free community event at the Simcoe County Museum. The event runs Monday, August 5 from 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. and includes a free BBQ. Guests will enjoy complimentary admission to the Simcoe County Museum, a chance to learn more about County programs and services, a guided walk through the Museum Tract, a range of picnic-themed activities and of course a BBQ with homemade ice cream as a special treat.

The BBQ is being sponsored by the County of Simcoe and will provide guests with hot dogs and a vegetarian option. As quantities are limited, guests are encouraged to come early. A donation to the local Food Bank is encouraged.

Lieutenant Governor John Graves Simcoe served as the first Lieutenant Governor of Upper Canada and was a founding figure in Canadian history. Throughout Simcoe County and Ontario, Lieutenant Governor John Graves Simcoe is recognized for his efforts.
