Midhurst/ July 7, 2017 – The County of Simcoe is pleased to announce that its Georgian Village Adult Day Program has received a Seniors Community Grant of $2,952.80 from the Government of Ontario to support seniors within the community to stay connected through social inclusion and community engagement.
The Adult Day Program features community events that engage seniors within the Program and the local rural community with fellowship, families and social interaction through social events including barbeques, entertainment and activities. The Adult Day Program also provides adult daytime respite care to families in need.
"Support through the Seniors Community Grant program has helped thousands of seniors by helping them to stay active and involved in their communities, find volunteer opportunities and engage in continuous learning," said Dipika Damerla, Minister of Seniors Affairs.
"We thank the Government of Ontario for supporting our Adult Day Program and helping us connect seniors in our communities," said Warden Gerry Marshall. "We take great pride in our continued leadership in providing innovative programs and services for our older residents as we strive to enhance the age-friendliness of Simcoe County."

Time: Events run from 11:30 a.m. – 2:30 p.m. and include lunch, refreshments and entertainment
