IN THE MATTER of the Municipal Act, S.O. 2001 section 135(7) and County of Simcoe By-law No. 6894, being a By-law to promote Sustainable Forest Management Practices and to prohibit or regulate the harvest, injuring or destruction of trees in woodlands in the County of Simcoe and Repeal By-law No. 5635;
TAKE NOTICE THAT an application for appeal of the refusal of a Request for an Exemption to Remove Woodlands to the Forest Appeal Committee has been submitted in accordance with By-law No. 6894 for a portion of the forested lands described as Part Lot 5, Concession 7, Township of Clearview.
THE PURPOSE OF THE HEARING is to hear the appeal of the refusal of a Request for an Exemption for the clearing of approximately 8.4 hectares (20.8 acres) of woodlands on the subject property. A location map with the proposed woodland removal area is included with this notice.
The Forest Appeal Committee will hold a public hearing to consider the application on:
Tuesday, March 7, 2023 at 9:00 a.m. in the Simcoe County Conference Room, Simcoe County Administration Building, 1110 Highway 26, Midhurst ON, L9X 1N6.
This is a public hearing and persons wishing to support or oppose the application are permitted to attend, or if unable to attend, may submit comments to the Clerk of the County of Simcoe in writing or by email to email@example.com indicating the address of the property, no later than Tuesday, February 28, 2023. If any individual does not attend at the hearing, the hearing may proceed in their absence and they will not be entitled to any further notice in the proceeding.
A staff report on the application will be made available on the County of Simcoe Meetings and Agendas website https://simcoe.civicweb.net
no later than five (5) days prior to the date of the hearing.
