A person who supports individuals from a group commonly subjected to prejudice and discrimination, but who are not members of that group. Allies work to end forms of oppression that gives them social privileges. Allies listen to, and are guided by, communities and individuals affected by oppression.
- Example: A straight person acting as an ally to gay, lesbian, bi and queer people.
