Waste Management

The Environmental Services Division is responsible for waste management services which can be categorized into the following:

• Waste Disposal Facility operations
• Maintain environmental compliance for Waste Disposal Facilities
• Future capacity planning
• Contract and collections administration (residential)
• Diversion initiatives

The County of Simcoe is responsible for 4 active landfill sites and 4 transfer stations in addition to managing numerous closed landfill sites. The County of Simcoe oversees the curbside collection of waste and recycling for its 16 member municipalities.
