Municipal and Corporate Services

The Corporate Services Department is responsible for activities that sustain the quality of life for the residents of the County of Simcoe.

Roads and Engineering

The Roads and Engineering Division is responsible for the operation, maintenance and construction of the County transportation network. The Division's objective is to provide a transportation infrastructure which is maintained and constructed to applicable standards, ensuring safe road conditions through efficient, cost effective maintenance operations and a long term planned program of road and bridge reconstruction and rehabilitation.

Environmental Services

The Environmental Division's services can be summarized as site and facility operations, environmental compliance, future capacity planning, curbside collection programs and contract administration, and waste diversion initiatives.

Planning Services

The role of the Planning Division is to guide the growth and development of the County of Simcoe, enhancing the quality of life for its citizens, the protection of important natural and cultural resources, and the facilitation of efficient municipal services. The primary tool to achieve these goals is the County Official Plan.

Forestry Division

The Forestry Division is primarily responsible for the management of the County Forests for forestry purposes, which includes the production of high value forest products, the provision and protection of wildlife habitats, the protection of soil and water resources and the provision of recreational opportunities.

By-Law Enforcement

By-law enforcement is primarily responsible for compliance enforcement of by-laws regulating the cutting of trees on privately owned lands, signs and encroachments on County Road right-of-ways, illegal dumping issues, and security on County properties.
