Each of the County’s four Long Term Care and Seniors Services (LTCSS) Homes has a bus that keeps residents and clients connected to their communities and allows them to participate in events or a variety of activities and outings.
The majority of residents living in LTCSS no longer have a license and rely on the buses for shopping trips, country drives, meal outings, special community events, trips to the zoo, picnics, fishing trips, and other leisure outings that benefit residents and reflect their interests.
On average, the County schedules 32 outings a month, equaling more than 3,800 riders annually, and plenty of kilometres on the buses.
Having purchased the first of the new buses in 2021, the County is currently in need of three replacement buses to ensure our residents remain connected and engaged in their communities.
