Maps - Geographical Information Systems - FAQs

1. How can I request a paper map?

Hardcopy (paper) maps can be purchased from the County of Simcoe Customer Service Centre located at:

1110 Hwy 26
Midhurst, Ontario 
Monday to Friday: 8:30 am - 4:30 pm

You can also order maps by contacting the Customer Service Centre at:

Customer Service accepts cash, Interac, VISA or Mastercard as methods of payment when purchases are made in person at the County's Administration Centre. 

Maps available from the County of Simcoe include: 

  • Simcoe County Base Map
  • Municipal Street Maps
  • Official Plan Schedules

and vary in price from $5.00 to $15.00

2. Where can I find topographic maps?

Topographic maps can be purchased ready made from most outdoor or large department stores. You may also wish to visit maps.simcoe.ca to create your own map.

3. I am a consultant working on behalf of the County of Simcoe or a Member Municipality. How do I go about obtaining GIS data for the contracted project?

  1. Contact the GIS Manager at gis@simcoe.ca or call 705-726-9300 ext. 1311 and provide contact information and details of the project. 
  2. Have the project manager at the municipality contact the GIS Manager to confirm the details of the project and that you are performing work on their behalf. Once the GIS section has established data requirements and delivery particulars, a signatory of your agency will be required to execute a digital data release form prior to receiving the data. Upon receipt of the signed release form the GIS section will then provide the data directly to you.
