PLEASE NOTE: Currently there exists a wide range of service levels among the various municipalities.  The County of Simcoe is striving to standardize its service levels, with the emphasis on improving overall diversion.  For further information on what collection services are available in your area consult your County of Simcoe Curbside Collection Calendar. 

Combined Bulky & Metal Item Collection
Note - some municipalities have combined bulky and metal item collections (bulky and metal items need to be kept separate at the curb).

Acceptable Bulky Items 
Max 5 Items:

  • Carpeting bundled & rolled
    Max 90 cm x 90 cm
    1 bundle = 1 item
  • Mattresses

  • BBQ (no propane tanks)
  • Empty hot water tanks
  • Metal bed frames

Leaf & Yard Waste Collections
Place material in kraft paper yard waste bags, unwaxed cardboard boxes, or any rigid open top container.

Brush Collection
Brush must be bundles with string and placed out for collection by 7:00 AM on Monday of your collection week.

Christmas Tree Collection
Some municipalities have chosen to receive Christmas Tree Collection. Christmas tress are composted and must be placed out for collection as follows:

  • Remove all plastic wrap and decorations
  • Must be out to curb by 7:00 AM on the week of your collection
  • If tree is longer then 1.8m, cut into 1.2m lengths and bundle pieces together
  • Do not place trees out early as they become frozen to the snow bank or covered in snow
  • Collection crews will not climb snow banks to retrieve or dig out trees.
