Organics

Keep organics out of the garbage, put your mini bin on the counter or under the sink to keep it handy. Remove unacceptable plastic packaging from food and place food scraps in the mini bin. Empty the contents every other day and place your securely latched large green bin beside your garbage at the curb by 7 a.m. on your collection day.

Don't know where things go?

To bag or not to bag?

We suggest wrapping organic material in newspaper or paper bags to absorb moisture, reduce odours and deter pests. However, you may prefer the additional convenience of using certified compostable bags in your mini or green bin. These liners are 100 per cent compostable and are available in sizes to fit your mini bin as well as your green bin. There is no limit to the amount of eligible residential organics for collection. The Maximum weight limit per container is 20 Kg (44 lbs).
