Public Access Defibrillator (PAD) Program and Training

Public Access DefibrillationThe County of Simcoe Paramedic Services Public Access Defibrillator (PAD) Program was developed in 2005 and in conjunction with the Heart and Stroke Foundation, has coordinated the placement of over 625 Automated External Defibrillators (AED’s) and continues to grow.  AED’s can now be found in all Public, Catholic and participating French schools throughout Simcoe County.  They can also be found in most arenas, community centres, sports facilities, township, municipal and city buildings and many other public places and private businesses.     

 To date the PAD program has had nine saves within Simcoe County.  These saves are attributed to the quick administration of CPR and AED use by community members.

PAD EventsPAD Events<p>​The PAD program is involved in a number of community events such as the Heart and Stroke Foundation’s Chase McEachern Hockey and Golf for Heart Tournaments, school visits, the Orillia OPP Children’s Safety Village and Paramedic Services Week to name a few.</p>
