Accreditation - Long Term Care and Seniors Services

Accredited with Exemplary Standing

"We are committed to providing the highest quality of care, services and programs," said Warden Gerry Marshall. "This recognition reaffirms our leadership in seniors care services and is a true credit to all our tremendous staff for the amazing work they do each and every day."

To support resident safety and continuous quality improvement, all four (4) County Long Term Care homes (Georgian, Simcoe, Sunset and Trillium) and two (2) Seniors Services residential homes (Simcoe Village and Georgian Residences) participated in a voluntary accreditation process conducted by Accreditation Canada in 2016.

Accreditation is a continuous process that occurs every four (4) years. Accreditation Canada is a national accrediting body that, for over 55 years, has been assisting organizations across all health sectors in Canada to improve their services.  For more information on Accreditation Canada please click here.

The County of Simcoe has been participating in this Accreditation process for well over 20 years now and has always received positive feedback on the great work and caring approach of its staff.  The 2016 accreditation process review stood above all others with the incredible feedback received as a result of the surveyors' visit. All standards measured to assess quality, safety and resident-centeredness were met in all six (6) locations surveyed. This is truly a remarkable achievement that is a first of its kind for our programs and services and is certainly exceptional within the broader industry.

This Accreditation process has been a true testament of the dedication, thoughtful and compassionate way the Long Term Care and Seniors Services staff serve residents and clients each and every day.
