The Simcoe County Museum Presents

STARLAB!

March 1st to March 31st, 2010

Take a trek across the universe this March! The STARLAB is coming back to the Simcoe County Museum!  Every human being that has ever walked this earth has looked up to the night sky and been awestruck by the infinite mystery of the stars.  Share the stories and knowledge of cultures across the ages as we delve into our common understanding of the cosmos.  The STARLAB is an inflatable planetarium from the Royal Ontario Museum, complete with a changeable panorama of the night sky, galaxy, and constellations.

Public and group STARLAB tours are available Thursday through Saturday, hourly from 10:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m., as well as Sundays from 1:30 p.m. to 3:30 p.m.  Tours are included with regular Museum admission.  Extra tour times will be added to cover the entire March Break period, March 13th – 21st.

Advanced bookings for school programs are available Monday through Wednesday in March.

Our hours of operation are Monday to Saturday, 9:00 a.m. to 4:30 p.m. and Sunday, 1:00 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.  Museum admission rates are as follows:  Adult $6, Student/Senior $5.00, Child $4.00, Preschoolers - free.

Come visit the past and explore ten thousand years
of local history.

At the Simcoe County Museum, we believe that our visitors should be able to experience history first hand in a museum that is fun and exciting!  Our five indoor galleries illustrate the history of the people of Simcoe County, from prehistoric times to the present.  Outdoors, we invite you to explore our many historic buildings set in a forested parkland.  Experience the ringing of the school bell, discover various farm implements and vehicles such as the Model "A" Autotrac. Come and step back into history and marvel at human ingenuity and inventiveness.

Simcoe County Museum offers a host of special events, changing exhibits and educational programs throughout the year. Join us for our special events, including our Wheels and Tracks in Motion event in June which showcases historical construction equipment, the Simcoe County Quilt, Rug and Craft Fair in September, and Christmas; Past and Present in December, just to name a few. Contact us for information concerning these or our children's activities.
