What is Household Hazardous Waste?

Household Hazardous Waste (HHW) is found in every home and includes batteries, cleaners, paints, motor oil, chemicals, grease, CFLs, and fluorescent tubes.

HHW products if not disposed of properly can be harmful to people, animals and the environment. HHW must not be included in your curbside garbage, recycling bin or down the drain.

Knowing which products are hazardous can help you protect yourself and others. Look for these symbols to identify hazardous products.
